Two locations: Giving

There are some high season in the life of the Church. The most important holy day of the year is Resurrection Sunday. Without the Resurrection there would be no reason to follow Jesus of Nazareth. He would be consider another great prophet, but not a savior. The second most significant day in the Christian calendar is not Christmas but Pentecost. While the birth of Jesus is important his birth alone does not impact our lives or shape history the same as Resurrection Sunday and Pentecost. It's at Pentecost where the followers of Jesus were actually empowered intellectually, emotionally, courageously, and gifted-ly to do what Jesus told them to do. Without the giving of the Holy Spirit the Church would not exist because it could not function as the representation of Jesus in the world today. It is on the day of Pentecost that God, as promised, poured out the Holy Spirit on the followers of Jesus. Enabling them (and us today) to carry on the work of Jesus. I realize that Pentecost falls on Memorial Day Weekend. It is an opportunity to take a short vacation. However, this is one of the most important days in the life the Christian Church. Let's not overlook the significance of Pentecost, the day in which the Church became the Church. God Bless, EC3
