Holy Week is Coming!

Sunday, March 29th marks the beginning of Holy Week. We consider this week to be holy because we commemorate the actions and teachings of Jesus his last week before Calvary. It was a very busy week for our Lord. Everything he did was for the glory of the Father and for love of the world. He marched into Jerusalem for Passover, cleaned out the temple, instituted the Lord's Supper, he was convicted of false crimes, tortured, and then crucified. Holy Weeks is a reminder that Jesus went through hell on earth so that you and I could avoid it later. Although the week ended with the death of Jesus the very beginning of the following week would be amazing. It was very early on the first day of the week that Jesus came out of the grave. He defeated death and by doing so he opened the door of eternal life for us. When you think about all that Jesus did out of love for us, surely we can enter next week with a sense of sacredness. Let's do all that we can to honor our Lord by practicing holiness through our prayers, worship, and participation in the ministries of St. James. God bless, EC3

Homeland Security

Here we go again! We are on the verge of a government shut-down. This time the issue is centered around Homeland Security. The reason why so many people are turned off by American politics is because of the extreme partisan rhetoric. If the Republicans like something then democrats hate it. If the democrats like it then the Republicans hate it. There has to be compromise otherwise this democracy doesn't work. Whenever you have two sides both parties must be willing to give a little and take a little. That's the case with a marriage and it is true in the world of politics. So please, for the sake of America's security work together on Capital Hill.

By now, many of you have heard about NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams. He has been suspended without pay for six months because of some false comments he made. Mr. Williams claimed to have been shot down in a helicopter while he was covering the war in Iraq. An investigation has shown that he was never involved in any such event. Further investigation revealed that Brian Williams also lied about a close relationship with members of Seal Team Six. What's worse is that it is believed there are more lies that will be uncovered.

Where I'm From

I come from the depths of infinite imagination, from the essence of never-ending peace, the center from which all hope is directed. I come from the author of beauty itself, from the pit of perfection, the whirlpool of inspiration. I come from the origin of poetic thought, from the nest of eternal joy, the point of eager return. I come from the bosom of liberation, from the cradle of Truth, the sea of abundant clams filled with righteousness. I come from the pan that produces an aroma of justice. The place that I come from is the same place that all of creation owes its origin to. I am a direct result of eternal love. I come form the one and only life source, God.
